acceptance.
understanding.
change.

You’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, and ready to do whatever it takes to actually start enjoying your life.
Maybe you’ve been to therapy before but this time you want something different. Perhaps previous therapists have gone over and over your childhood stories, but when you ask “So what do I do now?” you're not really sure of the answer or what to do next.
What you really want is support and a clear plan to help you manage the challenges you’re facing today and those you’ll face in the future.
Maybe you’re not exactly sure what you’re looking for...
but you know with certainty that you're ready for change.
MAYBE YOU STRUGGLE WITH…
+ Overwhelming loneliness. No matter where you are or who you’re with, there’s this constant sense of being on the outside, like no one really gets you. It’s hard not to feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world all on your own, and you so badly want to belong somewhere that your uniqueness is more than seen…it’s celebrated.
+ Feeling out of control of your emotions, thoughts, and reactions. It often seems like your emotions are running your life—fear, anger, and frustration hit you like waves and you just can’t get ahead of them. Even when you know something isn’t helping (like reaching for food or doomscrolling to cope) it’s hard to stop. Everything feels overwhelming, like you’re stuck on a rollercoaster of reactions that go from 0-100 and you’re not sure how to get off of it.
+ Giving more than you get in relationships. You bend over backwards to keep the peace, even if it usually means putting yourself last. It’s easier to be who others want you to be—who they’ve come to expect—than risk being judged or left behind. You give so much of yourself, hoping eventually it’ll earn you the same consideration in return. But so far, it’s just left you feeling empty, like no matter how much you do, it’s never truly enough.
+ Constant worry about everything. The anxious thoughts never seem to stop—it’s like you’re always waiting for something to go wrong and for the other shoe to drop, even when life seems to be going fine. Every decision feels like a major risk and you get stuck playing out worst-case scenarios on repeat in your mind. Try as you might, your constant attempts to control the uncontrollable aren’t actually helping. In fact, they often make things worse.
+ Knowing who you are, what you want, and how to get there. You’ve spent so long figuring things out on your own that you’ve never had time to decide what you actually want. Trusting your own judgment seems dangerous and you’re exhausted from the constant second-guessing and apologizing. It’s like you’ve lost the real you somewhere behind the smile you wear just to get through each day and try to keep others happy.
Shaming yourself into being a better version of you isn’t working.
Let’s try something different together.
Hi, I'm Thomas
I know this work can transform your life—because I’ve done it to transform my own.
It might feel like you're just doing whatever you can to survive moment to moment, but what if there were ways to manage your feelings, worries, thoughts, and reactions more effectively? For so many of us, the skills we can build in therapy are the missing pieces we weren’t taught growing up. My passion for this work comes from knowing how deeply it can change lives (including mine) and I’m fully committed to helping you experience that shift. Whatever your journey there looks like, I’ll be alongside you every step of the way.
Together, we’ll learn to accept what can’t be controlled and feel empowered to change what can. My hope is that through gaining skills to manage your emotions, thoughts, and actions, you’ll be able to make decisions that align with the life you want to build—one that's fulfilling and true to who you actually are today.

Specialties

Anxiety and
Emotion Regulation
We’ll start by taking the time to understand what’s making it hard for you to manage your anxiety and emotions. Sometimes, it's about how you’re biologically wired or maybe you just didn’t learn the right skills growing up. Other times, it's a pattern of being stuck in emotional overload or believing things about your feelings that don’t really match what’s happening.

Borderline
Personality Disorder
It’s likely been this way for as long as you can remember—those who were supposed to be there for you either let you down or outright invalidated your experience. Maybe there’s a sense that no matter what you do, nothing has ever been good enough—not for the people around you and especially not for yourself. It’s exhausting and at times it just feels easier to be alone than to keep trying to meet everyone else’s expectations.
LGBTQIA+
While exploring and coming to terms with our sexual and gender identities, Three Waves Psychotherapy acknowledges the unique barriers, as well as multiple strengths, of the LGBTQ+ community. We seek to provide a safe space to address the mental, behavioral, and spiritual aftereffects of discrimination, invalidation, and trauma.

Therapies
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
MBCT provides a practical framework for experiencing our thoughts in a constructive, workable, and realistic way. More curious than cerebral, MBCT acknowledges the complexity of our thoughts and provides the necessary skills to ensure that our thinking helps us to achieve our goals, embrace solutions to problems, and improve our worldview.

Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy
ACT aims to develop a sustainable relationship with realities which may be out of our control. While prioritizing quality of life and a compassionate understanding of ‘what is,’ ACT encourages us to devote committed action towards what truly matters…even though difficult experiences may be there.
